This maiden edition aimed at “setting words in motion” will feature guest lectures, book chats, film adaptation, book exchange session, etc.

The event is scheduled to hold as below-highlighted;

Date: Friday, 4th and Saturday, 5th of March, 2016.

Time: 6:00pm and 10:00am respectively.

Venue: Pit Theatre, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.



We have on our line up this year, some of the most thrilling authors and thought-leaders in Nigeria’s literary scene. From poets like Efe Paul Azino and Remi Raji; to story-tellers like Ifeoluwapo Adeniyi and Molara Wood; and to Essayists like Chude Jideonwo and Remi Sonaiya.

Book Chats: The Reflector Book Fest will feature panel sessions where authors will read out from their published works and participants can engage them with questions, comments and opinions.

Panel Discussions: Every good literary work has a theme, and most authors are identified with certain themes. Our panel discussions at Reflector Book Fest will engage leading literary enthusiasts on certain points of conversation.

Film Show (Dazzling Mirage): With the approval of the author and producer, the Reflector Book Fest will feature the film adaptation of Olayinka Egbokhare’s “Dazzling Mirage”, produced in 2015 by Tunde Kelani’s Mainframe Film and Television Productions. The film show will be succeeded by an open conversation with the author and the producer.

Writing Workshop: The Reflector Book Fest will feature an exclusive 3-hour intensive practical workshop for budding writers – of different genres of the art. You can be part of this close-range mentorship with Molara Wood, Jumoke Verissimo and Ololade Ajekigbe. Limited spaces are available. Learn more and register here.

Book Signings/Exchange: With literary works and their authors readily available, participants can buy books at ridiculously subsidized prices, autograph them, and exchange with new friends.

Open Mic: Participants can have their performances in spoken word poetry, music, story-telling, dance, etc. The Reflector Book Fest will also feature a session tagged: “Poetry, Ponche and Pepper Soup”.

Guest Lecture: The Reflector Book Fest, through the guest lecture, create a platform that brings the experiences of the older generation close to the younger generation. The lecture will shed some light on history, society and the literature that drives them.
